Universities: Prexy, Prexy-- Rah, Rah, Rah!

To give Detroit's Wayne State University ample time to find a successor, President Clarence Hilberry thoughtfully announced eleven months ago that he will retire in 1965. Putting its time to advantage, Wayne asked 46,000 alumni: "What sort of person do you think should be named the next president?" Summed up last week the results were as revealing of U.S. alumni as of the paragons they envision running U.S. universities.

To fill Hilberry's shoes, Wayne alumni want a "magician" with a "strong stomach" and "free of neuroses." He must be both for and against...
