As Foster Furcolo, Massachusetts' two-term Democratic Governor, was edging his way through the crowded lobby of Boston's Sheraton-Plaza Hotel with campaigning Lyndon Johnson fortnight ago, a Boston postman hailed him in friendly fashion.
