Common Market: Somebody Is Out of Step

The overwhelming majority of Common Market businessmen are opposed to Charles de Gaulle's policy of blocking Great Britain's admission to the Common Market. In a survey by TIME-LIFE International of 447 ranking executives in leading Common Market companies. 94% favored Britain's entry. Even among French executives, where sympathy for De Gaulle's policies might be understandably greater, only 16% supported De Gaulle's action. In Germany and Italy, 99% of the executives responding favored Britain's admission, and every last one of the Dutch was for it.
