But in Cairo last week, big red headlines hit the street. COMMUNIST PROPAGANDA ATTACKS US, cried one daily. RUSSIA TRIES BLACKMAIL, screamed another. Khrushchev, who used to boast of Egyptian-Russian relations as an example of how the Communists could get along with another nation "whose social system is different from ours," had abruptly turned his venom on Gamal Abdel Nasser.
