State Teachers beat La Salle, 90-80; little St. Norbert (West De Pere, Wis.) edged past Marquette, 49-47; Evansville (Ind.) College beat basketball-proud Louisville, 92-82; Ohio U. (Athens, Ohio) beat Indiana, 76-68.

¶ California's Joey Lopes was as aggressive as he knew how to be against Lightweight Champion Joe Brown, but Brown's sharp counterpunches picked Lopes' attack to pieces, and Brown held on to his title with a T.K.O.
