Sport: All-Americas of 1953

The end of football's two-platoon era this season marked the decline & fall of the specialist, the player who could block but not tackle, the player who could pass but could not defend against enemy passes. This year All-America football selectors did not have to worry about such refinements as offensive and defensive teams. Last week and this, the Associated Press, United Press, International News Service, Look and Collier's released their choices. Notre Dame Halfback Johnny Lattner, for the second year in a row, made everybody's team. The consensus:
