The Press: Prices Up

There are 141 U.S. dailies now selling for more than 5¢, with 26 as high as 10¢, the American Newspaper Publishers Association reported last week. Of the 515 dailies in the U.S., Canada, Hawaii and Alaska that raised their prices during 1952 because of increased costs, only 54 permanently lost readers.
