¶Mayors of three Florida cities
indicated their opinion of California weather with a hearty bit of dumb
show when they arrived at Los Angeles for a visit last week. As soon as
they stepped off the plane, they began struggling into parkas,
raincoats, and putting up umbrellas. One donned skis, another skates,
and the third a pair of snowshoes. As if in reply, thunder rolled,
lightning flashed and hail and torrential rain fell on the city.
