Televisionaries, who foresee TV swallowing up all its show-business
elders, could point last week to a new signpost. ABC bought from Warner
Bros, the old 20-acre Vitagraph lot (where talkies began to kill off
silent films 20 years ago). ABC will be the first to put network
television on a Hollywood production basis.
