Sport: After the Gun Went Off

At Columbus, Ohio, last week, in the weirdest football game of the year, the score was Northwestern 6, Ohio State 0 when the game-ending gun was fired. The bands began marching onto the field, and were waved back by the referee: Northwestern had been offside on the last play. Given a little borrowed time, opportunist Ohio State threw a desperation pass, and completed it for a touchdown. Ohio State had only to make the try-for-point to win. The kick was blocked.
