Five sons had "gone off to war; only young Elden, 15, was left. On their farm in Tremonton, Utah, Mr. & Mrs. Alben Borgstrom felt lost. But regular letters came from the five absent sons; that helped to keep up their spirits.

Then the bad news began. In March they heard that 28-year-old Clyde, a Marine, had been killed in the Solomons. May brought word that LeRoy, 30, an infantryman, had died in Italy. In August, Rolon, 19, was killed on a bombing mission over Europe. Last month, Rulon, Rolon's twin, was reported missing in action.
