The staff general had seen it with his own eyes: an MP outfit in Brittany had trained its pet hare and a mongrel dog to chase each other. Dutifully making his report, the staff general reported the phenomenon to his commander. Blimped his boss:
"What's that—you saw a hare chasing a dog? General, you're a damned liar—that violates all standing operating procedure!"
