The President was away, on vacation. In his absence:

¶ Members of the famed One Thousand Club, roundly denounced by Tom Dewey during the campaign, got coveted invitations to the Term IV Inaugural.

¶ The Harvard Alumni Bulletin deadpanned under its class notes: "Franklin D. Roosevelt, Grad. '03-'04, LL.D. '29. No change of address."
