One of the few selfish pleasures of the self-effacing wife of John D. Rockefeller Jr. is to shop for bargains among the works of oncoming modern painters. As vice president and trustee of Manhattan's Museum of Modern Art, she has put good advice to good purpose by specializing in water colors and drawings by U.S. artists.
