One day last week, in La Maison Franchise of Manhattan's Rockefeller Center, Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt and four assistant jurors inspected 3,026 "Drive Safely" posters, then chose for first prize one painted by Keith Shaw of Manhattan. The prize: $1,000, offered by Devoe & Raynolds Co., Inc., paint manufacturers. The winning poster: a skeleton hand blanketing the rear license plate of a speeding automobile with a red-lettered plate: FOOL.* Second prize, $250, was won by F. S. Brunner of Philadelphia.
