Louis failed to knock out, returned to England, surprised English boxing writers by talking of his earnings in dollars rather than pounds. Explained Pugilist Farr: "There's more of them."

Famed Architect Frank Lloyd Wright,

who once held it would be cheaper to abandon Pittsburgh than try to make it handsome, arrived in Detroit, told Detroiters: "Take your own city, for example. Architecturally, it is only slightly worse than any other American city."
