Without the aid of a "good alibi," and near the scene of the crime instead of outside the county, John ("Garry") Scaccio, henchman of pasty-faced Gangster Jack ("Legs") Diamond, went on trial at Catskill, N. Y. last week. He was accused of torturing a Greene County cider hauler in the course of an applejack war.
