Senators appointed to investigate strike conditions in bituminous Pennsylvania under the Johnson resolution (TIME, Feb. 27)—Idaho's English-born Gooding, Montana's long-nosed Wheeler, chunky Wagner of New York (born in Germany) and Oklahoma's quiet little Pine.
