The Commoner, founded by William Jennings Bryan 22 years ago, has suspended publication. Since the Great Commoner took up Chautauqua, the Cabinet and Florida, the circulation has steadily shrunk until the paper was scarcely read outside of Nebraska. It dwelt too much upon the past and had ceased to be the clarion call of political battle. Time was when every Democratic editor ill the land kept one eye on The Commoner, while the other guided his pen.
