At 8:30 in the morning, a chauffeur-driven Ford Motor Co. car pulled up in front of the Detroit-Leland Hotel, picked up the Indian visitor, and whisked him off to a tour of Ford's sprawling River Rouge plant, then on to United Auto Workers Local 600.
