Moving Sidewalk. The first passenger conveyor to go around corners was demonstrated by the Robins Conveyors Division of Hewitt-Robins Inc. The flexible rubber belt is also the first conveyor designed to move passengers in two directions at once. Hewitt-Robins will install 1,406 ft. of moving sidewalks (for $234,704) at the Dallas Airport.

Transistor Phonograph. A 7½-lb. portable phonograph that uses transistors instead of vacuum tubes will be put on sale by the Philco Corp. The phonograph will play for 150 hours on the power produced by four standard flashlight batteries...
