In Elizabeth, N.J., after she slapped a chef, was struck in return during a disagreement over an order of onions, Waitress Fay Martin won $5,200 damages in a ruling by a judge who called it "common knowledge" that "a woman's slap on the face of a grown man is not of such character as to require resistance."
