In Stalybridge, England, after he had slugged Secondhand Dealer George Thompson, 64, with a pistol, Frank Grundy, 23, heeded Thompson's plea, went to a nearby drugstore for bandages, found police waiting when he got back, bitterly accused Thompson of ingratitude as he was hauled off to jail.
