McCarthy hearings for more than a month, the strongly pro-McCarthy Chicago Tribune last week wrote a brand-new estimate of one of its favorite Senators: "In the course of the radio and television show, Mr. McCarthy has managed on more than one occasion to irritate his friends while confounding his enemies.
