Avery Brundage, 64, president of the U.S. Olympic Committee, is an old hand at sizing up Olympic talent. Last week, after watching the Los Angeles relays, Brundage could no longer restrain his enthusiasm. "With just those boys we had out there tonight," he said, "we can win the Olympic track and field events. I'd say We're going to have the best team we ever had."
