STATE OF BUSINESS: The 54

If in the depression years 1935-39 thg U.S. dollar was worth $1 in buying power, it is now worth only 54¢, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported last week. This is a drop of 4.6¢ since the start of the Korean war. Compared to 1914, the dollar is worth a mere 39¢.
