Tied for third place: Bob Hope and Amos 'n' Andy. Also-rans: Walter Winchell, Arthur Godfrey, Lowell Thomas, Major Bowes, H. V. Kaltenborn, Alexander Woollcott, Will Rogers.
The almost unanimous write-in vote for the outstanding "noncommercial" personality: Franklin D. Roosevelt.
