Pass the Salt. Armour & Co. had some good news this week for millions of U.S. sufferers from heart disease, kidney trouble and high blood pressure, who must follow a low-salt diet. Armour has perfected a process to cut as much as 95% of the sodium (the troublesome part of sodium chloride, i.e., table salt) from meat, will sell cans of nearly salt-free beef stew, hash, beef & gravy, chili con carne and meat loaf. Cost: a few cents more than regular canned meat.
