Call Out the A.S.P.D.!
The Military District of Washington announced a daring experiment in
unification: it was getting ready to put the Army's MPs and the Navy's
Shore Patrol out of business. Some time around the first of the year,
the MPs and SP would be merged (with the Air Force's patrolmen) into a
new and common enemy: the Armed Services Police Department.
