Foreign News: Good Old Charlie

Unable to find a candidate to his liking in the London County Council elections last week, one voter wrote his own into the ballot: "Good Old Charlie."

His candidate, however, both by age (20 weeks) and position (eventual heir to the British throne) was not likely to run for public office. Nevertheless, Prince Charles of Edinburgh was daily in the public mind. Last week, his parents, Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip, packed young Charles off by motorcar to spend Easter at their new home at Windlesham Moor, 30 miles from London, in Surrey.
