The blast against Communism was the Prime Minister's own. He had picked his own time for loosing it: last week's valedictory to politics. He had written it without consulting the Cabinet, and he spoke it without relation to Ernest Bevin's anti-Russian blast in Britain (see INTERNATIONAL). If the words seemed strong from the mouth of a Mackenzie King, who usually speaks softly, it was because he had been alarmed by what he learned of the world's state during his visit to Europe last November.
