The townspeople of Fulton, Mo. (pop. 8,297) say there is no stopping "Bullet" McCluer. Short, jut-jawed, and effervescent, Franc Lewis McCluer has spent most of his 49 years in Fulton, as an undergraduate (class of '16), professor, and (for the past 13 years) president of tiny Presbyterian Westminster College. Bullet McCluer is a whirlwind of energy and salesmanship who earned his nickname, as an undergraduate, from the machine-gun force of his debating.
