In New Orleans, Carl Bendzus was charged by federal agents with illegally wearing the Congressional Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, Purple Heart, Victoria Cross, British Military Medal, British Military Cross, Mons Star Medal, Victory Medal, Belgian Croix de Guerre, Belgian Order of the Crown, French Legion of Honor and half a dozen lesser decorations.

Double Jeopardy. In Los Angeles, after spending 20 weeks in the hospital with injuries suffered when she was hit by a car, Mrs. Mary C. Davies was carried into court on a stretcher, fined $25 for jaywalking.
