The cobweb of international air routes already covers most of the globe. This week U.S. flag airlines, directly and by proxy, added three new threads:

Transcontinental & Western Air, Inc. extended its New York to Paris route on to Rome, Athens and Cairo. One-way fares before taxes: Rome $471; Athens $562; Cairo $659.

Panair do Brasil (subsidiary of Pan American Airways Corp.) took delivery of its first Constellation, prepared it for a survey flight from Rio de Janeiro to Lisbon, Paris, London.

American Overseas Airlines, Inc. added Oslo to the scheduled stops on its weekly flight to Scandinavia. One-way fare from New York: $470...
