British cinemas last week showed
Winston Churchill's recent meeting with Franklin Roosevelt. The same
newsreel included a brief shot of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor
arriving in Washington during Churchill's visit. British audiences were
attentive to Churchill and Roosevelt, but made no demonstration. When
the Windsors appeared, houses echoed with applause and cheers.
