The Chinese version of Tipperary last week got as far as Britain, where it was literally translated in the daily Yorkshire Post:
This road is far from Ti Po Leih Li,
We must walk for many days;
This road is far from Ti Po Leih Li
I want to see my lovely girl,
To meet again Pi Ko Ti Li,
To see again Lei Ssu Kweirh;
This road is far from Ti Po Leih Li,
But my heart is already in that place.
