¶ Bade Vice President Henry Agard Wallace farewell on his trip to China, pointedly promised that Henry Wallace would be back in time for the Democratic convention.

¶ Conferred with Ambassador to Britain John G. Winant and Ambassador to Russia Averell Harriman, remained firmly mum about both conferences.
