Religion: K Hymns

Religion has been added to the U.S. Army's K rations. Around a million packages of vitamin-rich food (32 oz., 3,726 calories) for men going into battle, the Army last week wrapped leaflets entitled Hymns From Home.

Chaplain Frederick W. Hagen had the idea (he is head of the training and planning division of the Office of Chief of Chaplains). Protestant, Jewish and Catholic chaplains chose the 13 popular, nondenominational hymns, added the 23rd Psalm.
