More than 36% of the Episcopal clergy want to enter the war right away.
Of those who do not, 79% favor armed intervention if a German victory
cannot be prevented otherwise. Such was the return of a mail poll of
6,000 clergymen (of whom 50% answered) conducted by the Anglo-Catholic
Living Church. Only 10% reported themselves pacifists.
