National Affairs: The Manse

Three days after Christmas, 1856, Rev. Joseph Ruggles Wilson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Staunton, Va. was blessed by the birth of a son. He christened the child Thomas Woodrow (for its maternal grandfather) Wilson. Soon after, Pastor Wilson & wife moved away from Staunton.
