A thoroughly happy man last week was Board Chairman James Milliken Speers, 73, of James McCutcheon & Co., Manhattan drygoods store. Besides serving McCutcheon's for 55 years, Merchant Speers, a good Presbyterian, has been active in many a pious cause. He is glowingly proud of his six sons. Two are in the service of his prosperous store and the rest in the service of God. Son Thomas Guthrie Speers is pastor of Baltimore's Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church.
