The normalcy backwash which put Warren G. Harding in the White House also deposited a Republican named Michael J. Hogan in Congress as Representative from Brooklyn. Distinguished only by his enormous obesity and his shag of white hair, Representative Hogan lasted the minimum two years in Washington, then drifted back to resume rooting for the political potatoes which are left for small-bore Republicans in Democratic Brooklyn. After a series of public jobs, he set up a private office where persons who wished could avail themselves of his experience in government.
