SPAIN: Don Einstein?

Last country in Europe to retain medieval restrictions against Jews was Royal Spain. Not until the Republic were Jews officially welcomed back to Spain, permitted to be married according to their rites, buried in Spanish cemeteries.

Last week bearded Fernando de los Rios, Minister of Public Instruction, proudly announced that Albert Einstein had accepted an invitation from the University of Madrid to become a member of its faculty.
