When school let out early one day last week in St. Louis, practically no one sneaked to the movies. Some 60,000 small figures, and 40,000 large ones, massed on the Levee to watch the silver-winged Spirit of the city come whirring over to dip and circle in review at the Eads Bridge. Young St. Louis howled its delight.†
