Palm reading as a form of fortune-telling is as phony as it is ancient. As an aid to medical diagnosis, it is as promising as it is new. The latest addition to the arcane art comes from the strange palm-print patterns found on babies born to mothers who had German measles early in their pregnancy during the epidemic that swept the U.S. in 1964-65.
