His tour of the U.S. last year took Soviet Poet Evgeny Evtushenlco 23,000 miles around the country and as far north as Alaska. It gave him the material for America and I Sat Down To gether, a collection of seven poems commissioned by Holiday magazine, some of which have also been published in his homeland.
