The first joint Protestant-Roman Catholic congregation in the U.S. is now being organized in Kansas City, Mo. Serving a largely Negro, downtown section of some 15,000 people, the unique ecumenical church, to be called St. Mark's, will be financed by the four participating denominationsCatholic, United Presbyterian, Protestant Episcopal and the United Church of Christ. Pastor of the congregation will probably be the Rev. Kenneth Waterman, a Presbyterian; his assistants will be ministers of the other three faiths.
