In the nation's capital the topic, naturally, was the Democratic White House steeplechase, and two front-row spectators, ex-Secretary of State Dean Acheson and Columnist Joseph Alsop, found themselves offering advice and opinion to each other at a Georgetown dinner party. Democrat Acheson made no secret of his partiality to Senate Majority Leader Lyndon B. Johnson as the ablest of all the Democratic presidential candidates.
