Most remarkable record in this season's book belongs to little (5 ft. 8 in., 155 Ibs.) Elroy Face, relief pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates (TIME, June 22). Last week Face beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-6, to make his record a startling 17-0, and to extend his winning streak over two seasons to 22 games.
