¶In Boston, one of the most publicized cases that grew out of Joe McCarthy's career as wild-swinging slayer of subversive dragons came to an end. Because of insufficient evidence, the Government announced that it was dropping the prosecution of Harvard Physicist Wendell Furry, charged with contempt for refusing to answer the Senator's questions. ¶Gift of the week: from John D.
